Vesak Message
Those
who practice the Dhamma see the Buddha. Therefore we are still able to see the
Buddha even though he passed away 2565 years ago. However , this does not mean
that we get the chance to see the Buddha physically. Rather through practicing
the teachings of the Buddha we invite the Buddha to exist in our minds. It
creates conceptions of integrity of the teaching. When someone asks us who the
Buddha is , the answer would be nothing but compassion and wisdom. These core
teachings of philosophy inspires us to be kind and wise ,every moment of our
lives with each step that we make.
Compared to the other realms , being a part of the
human realm as a human is incredibly rare. By realizing the truth of this we
should use this noble life for good causes. Kindness represents “heart” and
wisdom represents “mind”. With the guidance of the Buddha one can awaken both of
these factors of mankind. That means seeing the Buddha not only on Vesak day but
throughout our lives , until our last breath. We should strongly encourage
ourselves to follow this path of purification.
Begin with yourself and your physical body and
your mind. Be aware of the true nature of the life cycle, and then one may
witness the impermanence of the physical body and mind. Finally you may touch
and feel the impermanence of life.
Everything is impermanent and subject to change.
Finally we see that we have no control over anything or anyone which includes
our own lives .
By realizing this truth one may remain calm and
still . This is what finally leads us to realize the ultimate goal of Nibbana
which is the only permanent thing in this impermanent word.
