Buddhism is the greatest philosophy that we can see in this world. So Buddhism
is giving so many answer s for so many problems.
Buddhism gives many ideas and advices to solve problems for day to day life.
There are many tunics in Buddhist perspective to many conflicts. This assignment
is based on the Buddhist approaches to solve the social conflicts. In daily life
you will encounter with many people, and we can be sure that not all will agree
with us. If we decide each morning when we wake up that we will not be affected
by unpleasantness and insults or criticisms or difficult situation that won’t
make us unhappy and start your day with sincere altruistic intention, thinking
how you can serve your fellow human beings including all the living creatures to
make this world a better place to live, eventually we will become a very
patient, tolerant, compassionate, warm hearted and calm person who becomes a
friend of all and genuine member to work for the conflict resolution.
According to the Buddha,
“Oh! Bhikkhus there are two kinds of illnesses. What are those two? Physical
illnesses and Mental illnesses. They seem to be people who enjoy freedom from
physical illnesses even for a year or two even for 100 years or more. But Oh!
Bhikkhus rare in this world are those who enjoy freedom from mental illnesses
even for one moment except those who are free from mental defilements or cankers
except the Arahant.”
Anger, Stress are the mostly effect to the agitation. Youth is more important
for the future of the world. Because of that the Buddha advice to control anger
and stressfor beenwellbeing. Arguments are part of life and we get into
arguments everyday with relatives, friends, classmates, co-workers and sometimes
even with strangers. Naturally we criticize or condemn people. We always try to
complain to others. These things make our anger. Because of getting angry we
have to face so many problems or troubles. So we must control or manage our
anger. Then we can live peacefully. Anger is a natural emotion that everyone
experiences from time to time. It is absolutely harmful oneself and others in
always. Anger is trivial and useless. In Buddhism we can find there are many
words for anger. They are, paigha, dosa, vyāpāda, upanāha, parilāha, āghāta .
But we cannot interpret these words as similar words for anger. Those words show
stages of anger. According to the Vitakkasaņţhānasuttathe Buddha explain how to
control anger and stress in five ways.
Aññanimitta
When desire, anger or delusion arises in the mind, he has to reflect on another
wholesome thought instead of above unwholesome thoughts. It mean, When evil
unskillful thought connected with desire, hate and delusion arise in a bhikkhu
through reflection on an adventurous object, he should (in order to get rid of
that) reflect on a different object which is connected with skills.
Adinavoupaparikkhato
By observing the defect, reaction or bad effects of the thoughts arisen in the
mind, one is able to overcome the stresses and the anger in the mind.It mean, If
the evil unskillful thought continue to arise in a bhikkhu, who in order to get
rid of an adventitious object reflect on a different object which is connected
with skills, he should ponder on the disadvantages of unskillful thoughts. (Ădīnavamanasikāra)
Asathi
Avoiding the contemplation on unwholesome thoughts. If some thoughts bring
unsaticefaction or suffering to the mind one has to get rid of contemplating on
that unwholesome thought. It mean, If the evil unskillful thought continue to
arise inabhikkhu, who ponders on their disadvantageousness, he should in regard
to them, endeavor (try) to be without attention and reflection.
Vitakkamulabheda
Where there is a stress or anger there should be a cause for it. So, searching
for the cause and observing it and avoid from that anger or stress. It mean, If
the evil unskillful thought continue to arise in a bhikkhu, in spite of his
endeavor to be without attention and reflection as regards evil, unskillful
thoughts, he should reflect on the removal of the (thought) source of those
unskillful thoughts. To do that we can focus our mind on something against the
hatred.
Abhinigganhato
If there is a stress, anger or defilement such as covetousness, anger, delusion
that defiles the mind, one has to eradicate that thought with a help of a
wholesome thought.
It mean, If the evil unskillful thought continue to arise in a bhikkhu, in spite
of his reflection on the removal of a source of unskillful thoughts, he should
with clenched teeth and the tongue pressing on the palate, restrain, subdue and
beat dew the (evil) mind by the (good) mind.
Every sentient being is so unique and has been gifted with talents to deal with
life in their own way, since every one of us are coming along with habitual
collection of so many different experiences through many lifetimes. Even in this
life, we come across different people, environments and are influenced
accordingly. So, the process of judgment differs from one person to another, due
to different frames of references, different conditional process and simple
habits that we are ingrained within from childhood. So, no book and person can
meet the various requirement of every individual. Using Buddhism for solving the
agitation is really practical method and it is very much helpful for success the
life of youth. |
